The Beyond Store x Nike SB Dunk High draws inspiration from Finnish architect Alvar Aalto through subtle material and color choices rather than bold branding. A mostly white upper is paired with birch-colored accents, blue patent-style panels, and a red outsole, referencing Aalto’s furniture, ceramics, and brick architecture. The design was created to remain timeless and was approved by the Alvar Aalto Foundation.
The collaboration also nods to Aalto’s freeform Villa Mairea pool, whose curved design later influenced California pool skating and helped shape modern skateboarding. Together, those details give the shoe a meaningful story while keeping it practical and skate-ready.
